Renovation Somewhat Complete

Scott and I have been working on the house for a while now.  This house is about one third of the size of our house in Florida, plus we have two additional little ones with us :)  The size adjustment has been a change, but I like it in many ways too.  I noticed in FL, Scott and I were always shouting to each other across the house. Like, "What time is it?" or "Where did you put the phone?"  This doesn't happen (as much) here.  Of course, cleaning is much easier.    I also like having a basement.  If Scott asks me where something goes, I just tell him to put it down there.  I know that's going to catch up with me soon.

Our goal in redecorating this house (we haven't really touched the bathrooms and we haven't finished our bedroom) was to make it feel more open.  The ceilings are kinda low, rooms are kinda small, space is kinda limited. So we went with a light flooring color which hardly shows any dirt either (this was a mistake we made in our last house--we went with beautiful dark wood floors-showed everything).

  1. I love the changes! The yellow is a great color in the living room and I like how you do not have both the same cribs for the babies. We have the medium color wood in our house and it looks so nice but you can still see everything on it. Great choice on the light color wood. Did you shop at Ashley furniture for the kids rug and the tv stand in the living room? They look like some of our stuff from the store here.
    Anyway, The house looks great!

  2. Hey Victoria! Glad you like the house. We bought the rug at walmart and the tv stand at an antique warehouse (but it's not an antique). It might be the same stuff though. Hope Brian is feeling better.
